Add notes and examples

About notes and examples

Many users asked for notes and examples. Notes and examples are not the priority of this project (at least not before there are big lists of simple translations). When there is no free dictionary at all the most important thing is to create long list of simple word-word translations. Goal of this project is to accelerate the development of new free dictionaries. ATs and cATs methods are used to create new free dictionaries very quickly. It is quite simple to validate word-word translations. To add notes and examples into a list of simple word-word translations is difficult and exhausting. For example 500 translations with notes and examples require same amount of hard work as 20000 simple word-word translations. There are dictionary note and example gourmets out there but more than 95% use dictionaries because of the simple translations. Therefore 95% of work should be focused on the translations. It is not effective to spend too much time on notes and examples when important words are not translated yet.

Notes and examples are added for words not for translations. It is only way to make notes and examples universal and to avoid adding them over and over again. So if you wish to add notes and examples for example for word chien in French you simply add ALL notes and examples for word chien in French so no one will ever have to add any notes and examples for French word chien. All notes and examples will be available from normal bi-lingual dictionaries but also from the universal dictionary. Notes and examples are not limited here unlike in the dictionaries. There is not enough space for notes and examples in dictionaries but this part of the project opens unlimited space for all those notes and examples you have ever dreamt about.

These notes and examples will not be listed in the online dictionaries but users will be able to read them when they click on the words. This way notes and examples will not make online dictionary result pages bigger and only users who really want to read them will read them.

You can now add any notes and examples for any word in any language. Please always keep in mind that the objective is not to re-create another free encyclopedia! Notes and examples you add are for dictionary not for encyclopedia.
