- (verb) To cast an actor in the same kind of role repeatedly.
- (verb) To identify someone as being of a specific type because of their appearance, colour, religion etc.
- (verb) (computing, programming languages) Changing an entity (a variable or an object) of one datatype into another. In other words, typecasting allows you to take a value that belongs to one type and "cast" it into another type. See also: type conversion.
